As artists, we always wonder when it is a good time to start. I get asked this question a lot by musicians. The truth is not universal. There’s no definite answer when it comes to starting out. Most people will tell you that you will know when the time is right. I’m not here to contradict them or anything, but in my experience, there’s no right time.
As artists, most of us never feel ready or are never happy with our work; we tend to be over-protective. Perfectionism is our biggest enemy. We need to embrace the imperfections in our work and accept the fact that it will never be as perfect as we want it to be. The world does not need perfection, and especially today, content is king. The more content you produce, the more you feed the insatiable need of your audience for new things.
With the proliferation of social media as means to disseminate content all across the world, you, the artist, have endless opportunities and massive potential. Just shoot for the stars.
Start creating as soon as inspiration hits you. It does not matter if whatever you create is not perfect; beauty is in imperfection. Do not hold back on your artistic expression and creativity. The best time to start is now!
